Frome musician is nominated for prestigious awards

AFROME musician has been nominated for two prestigious awards by a national world music magazine and now needs your votes to win.

Dan Harper, who collaborated with a series of musicians under the name Invisible Systems has been nominated for ‘Best Cross-Cultural Collaboration’ and ‘Best Band’ by Songlines magazine, the industry’s leading world-music publication.

For Dan, the nominations have come at the “perfect time” as Invisible System has just released a new live album, Live and Raw.

Dan’s work on Invisible System’s album Introducing Invisible System included collaborations with a range of international musicians, including samples from Ethiopia.

Dan said, “This is the third time we have been nominated. There have been some great reviews about Invisible System and it would be great to win the awards.”

A review from American website, www.popmat says Dan is, “as skilled a musician and bandleader as he is a producer” describing Invisible System as, “a canny mix of dark dub, metal, Ethiopian pop, and techno stylings.”
