Anyone who would like company on Christmas Day will be welcomed to Frome’s Big Christmas Get-Together: a good old fashioned Christmas knees-up!

Guests are invited to Frome Football Club for a Christmas to remember, making new friends and enjoying a full, traditional Christmas lunch, complete with transport, gifts and entertainment.

The event is free to attend, but guests need to book ahead to ensure their place. Guest forms are available from Frome Library or you can telephone Sue, volunteer guest co-ordinator, directly on 01373 464629 or email

“We welcome anyone who is on their own on Christmas Day and would like company – all ages, backgrounds and families too,” said Emma Warren on  behalf of the organisers. “Come with a friend if that’s easier.

“The festive period can be a difficult time for all sorts of reasons, and over the last three years the event has moved away from being exclusively for those who can’t afford a good day or are particularly isolated, to a more inclusive community celebration for everyone.

“Once again, we have been overwhelmed with generous offers from volunteers and local businesses – we feel very fortunate to be surrounded by such wonderful support and to know that the people of Frome really are looking out for each other in a such practical and thoughtful way.

“We are really looking forward to sharing a special Christmas Day with everyone at the Football Club.”
