Golden hare raises funds for Openstorytellers

Artist-illustrator-author, Jackie Morris, generously offered Hunting Raven Books a fund-raising opportunity when she painted a Golden Hare for the shop and suggested that a limit edition print be produced and sold on behalf of local charities.

Frome-based Openstorytellers were thrilled when Hunting Raven contacted them with the news that they would benefit from this initiative.   The charity uses all kinds of stories to help people with learning disability to lead rich and fulfilling lives – personal stories, legends and folk tales.

Nicola Grove, who founded the charity 10 years ago, and Brian Marshall, the first member and now a trustee, were delighted to receive a cheque for £590 from Karin Campagna, manager of Hunting Raven.

Dr. Grove said, “The money will be used to directly support our members to get out and about to visit storytelling clubs and festivals and learn more stories to tell. We would like to express our thanks to all the staff and customers at Hunting Raven, and to Jackie Morris for her wonderful gift.”

Nicola and Brian will be returning to the Hunting Raven for the first Sunday Independent Market in March 2015 to tell hare stories.
