ANEWYear’s Eve party with a difference will be held at Silk Mill Studios this year, when local families can celebrate the turn of the year in the middle of the afternoon.

Reach for the Bubbles is an Australian-themed New Year’s Eve party for families that will take place from 12pm until 5pm on Thursday 31st December.

Organiser Andy Jacobs said, “Reach for the Bubbles is Somerset’s answer to the family rave culture that is sweeping the nation, and our end of year edition is crammed full of excitement.

“For the first time at Reach for the Bubbles we have a band performing! What do you get if you cross two music-loving, primary-teaching, singer-songwriting music lovers? Rocktopus!

“Rocktopus is an interactive live music experience for children of all ages which will entertain, educate and inspire. There’s no bland in this band, just quality tunes to be enjoyed by adults and children alike.

“DJ Lionel Richtea will be bringing the party vibes and hosting games such as themed animal dancing, gymnastics twirling, and  ‘Limbo Legends’. On the food front Birdie Hop Kitchen are returning with their sweet treats, and we are pleased to welcome Southern Indian delights from Lungi Babas!

“There will be instrument making midday and 2pm. At 2pm a very special local lady is going to count us down from 10 to celebrate with Australia!”
