Iyad Sughayer on Frome FM

PIANIST Iyad Sughayer will be featured on Frome FM at 12.00 noon on Saturday 5th March prior to giving his recital at Christ Church that evening.

The young Jordanian-born Palestinian pianist is thrilled to be playing in Frome and quite overwhelmed by the generosity of all the people involved in sponsoring and organising his recital. So if you would like to hear more about him, his passions and background, tune in to 96.6 FM and hear local composer and Frome FM presenter, Helen Ottaway, talk to him about what has inspired him and why he is championing the little-known Khachaturian sonata in his current concert programmes.

Ruth Windle (recital organiser) said, “The response to this event continues to amaze me. People are really looking forward to hearing Iyad play. And I’ve been surprised at how well advance ticket sales are going – Frome isn’t known for buying tickets in advance, but they are going like hot cakes!

“All proceeds from this event will go to support Iyad in his post-graduate studies – so a full house would be wonderful.”

The Iyad Sughayer Recital will be at Christ Church, Christchurch West, Frome on Saturday 5th March at 7.30pm. Doors open 7.00pm – refreshments available. Tickets £12 (under 16s £5).

Advance ticket sales from Postscript, Stony Street, Frome and  Frome Wholefoods, Cheap Street, Frome. Or send SAE with cheque (payable to ‘Ruth Windle (Piano Recital)’ to ‘Iyad Sughayer Recital’, 25 Vallis Way, Frome BA11 3BH.
